48th Board of Directors Meeting of Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board

A meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was held on March 12, 2025, at the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Health & Family Welfare in Shimla. The meeting was chaired by Sh. Nardev Singh Kanwar. Attendees included Sh. Ravinder Singh Ravi, Sh. Bhupender Singh, Sh. J.C. Chauhan, Smt. Hema Tanwar, Sh. Rajiv Kumar, Sh. Munish Karol, Sh. Jyoti Chauhan, Sh. Amar Singh, Sh. Naresh Chauhan, and Smt. Neelam Gupta.

Key Decisions and Approvals:

Approved Annual Budget: ₹219.46 crore for FY 2025-26
Social Welfare Allocation: ₹160 crore dedicated to various social welfare schemes
Education Investment: ₹35 crore allocated for a new boarding school in Dehra
Skill Development: Emphasis on skill training and employment opportunities for beneficiaries
Data Modernization: Digitization of beneficiary data and records
Awareness Programs: Implementation of IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) and awareness campaigns
Infrastructure Upgrade: Renovation of office accommodation at Hamirpur

49th Board of Directors Meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board

The 49th Board of Directors Meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Welfare Board was convened on June 24, 2025, at the Armsdale, 6th floor Committee Room, HP Secretariat, Shimla at 11:30 AM. The meeting was chaired by Sh. Nardev Singh Kanwar, Hon’ble Chairman with the participation of key board members, including Sh. Vijay Wardhan, IAS, Sh. Bhupender Singh, Sh. J.C. Chauhan, Sh. Pradeep Kumar, Sh. Munish Karol, Sh. Jyoti Chauhan, Sh. Amar Singh, and Smt. Neelam Gupta.

Key Decisions and Approvals:

e-KYC of registered workers:
- The board decided to speed up the process of e-KYC of registered workers on Panchayat level through Labour Welfare Officers.
Agreement with HPSEDC:
- The matter regarding agreement of outsource services was discussed in the Board meeting and it was decided to convene the meeting with the HPSEDC and outsourcing agency in the instant matter.
Allocation of additional Budget:
- Board of Directors accorded approval for the additional budget of ₹2 crore for procurement of official articles as well as for publicity of the various welfare schemes.
Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Initiatives:
- The board approved installation of 12 outdoor LED displays at the District Level and temporary flex hoardings at fair price shops (Depot/Society) for wide publicity of various welfare schemes run by the Board.
Establishment of Sub-office in Balichowki, District Mandi:
- Board of Directors approved establishing a sub-office at Balichowki in District Mandi along with staff.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Hon’ble Chairman Sh. Nardev Singh Kanwar expressed gratitude to all attendees for their valuable contributions and reaffirmed the board’s commitment to the welfare and upliftment of construction workers in the State.
